May 23,2019
TOKYO- Plat Home Co., Ltd. (Securities Code: Tokyo Stock Exchange Second Section 6836, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Tomoyasu Suzuki, hereinafter Plat’Home) today announces the adoption of "OpenBlocks® IoT VX2" as a reference hardware for "Civil Infrastructure Platform" (CIP) projects.

CIP is an open source project hosted by the Linux Foundation that enables long-term support (more than 15 years) and management of infrastructure systems through a base layer of industrial grade open source software components, tools and methods. CIP aims to speed implementation of Linux-based civil infrastructure systems through industrial grade software and a universal operating system, build upon existing open source foundations and expertise, establish de facto standards by providing a base layer reference implementation, and contribute to and influence upstream projects regarding industrial needs.

By adopting "OpenBlocks® IoT VX2" as a CIP reference hardware, this product can be used as a development target for CIP's Super Long Term Support Kernel, which launched in February, advancing Linux-based civil infrastructure projects.

Plat'Home offers pioneering cooperative ideas and solutions for customers in the complex IoT era. Our knowledge and understanding of the market needs are integrated in a feedback loop with distinguished in-house products, open source projects and services actively promoting scalable value realization.

From CIP

“CIP members are dedicated to helping the project ensure long-term support of our key civil infrastructure systems for a better future,” Kobayashi Yoshitake, Chair of the CIP Technical Steering Committee. “We appreciate all of the leadership Plat’Home has provided and look forward to see how OpenBlocks helps get us one step closer to our mission.”
